About Me

I am a first-year graduate student in ethnomusicology at Wesleyan University interested primarily in popular music studies. My current research is in metal music. Within that area, I am investigating issues related to gender and sexuality as well as the performance and theatricality of violence. Additional areas of interest include performance studies, applied ethnomusicology, and digital humanities.

I graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and Classical Civilization. To enhance my practical and strategic skills while satisfying my own need for an increased level of hands-on community engagement in my work, I also completed a minor concentration in Arts Leadership.

Outside of the classroom, I have worked in both arts administration and higher education administration. I also love adventures and I travel whenever I can. Thus far, I have been to Italy, France, Greece (three times), Norway, Sweden, Ireland, Czechia, and Croatia, and I have journeyed across and around the United States.
